The Monuments of St. Peter Hungate
The most decorative monument is to Matthew Goss for whom a full description is available here
The only other wall monument in St. Peter Hungate is to Lt Col Edward Bulwer who was instrumental in openning the church as a museum of Ecclesiastical Art in 1933.
Many visitors still remember St. Peter Hungate as the place for brass rubbing in Norwich. Unfortunately due to lack of funding the museum and the brass rubbing activities were all discontinued in 198x? Artefacts are in the care of the Norwich Museum Service.
There are a large number of floor monuments covering the remains of local dignitaries.
